He continues to achieve at the top of his sport of choice, surf lifesaving. Blend this with saving lives on New Zealand beaches, corporate achievement, an abundance of community work, clear goals and disciplined action and you arrive at that elusive space of balancing all work and life roles.

 

At the 2007 EEO Trust Work & Life Awards, Matthew was the winner of a Walk the Talk Award for demonstrating commitment to Work:Life Balance for himself and his 110 staff.

 

A committed team player, Matthew excelled at local and national levels in rugby, swimming, triathlons, out-rigger paddling and surf lifesaving.  The latter is his passion for which he was the recipient of the 1994 NZ Surf Lifeguard of the Year Award.  He continues to be involved as President of the Papamoa Surf Lifesaving Club – the youngest, most innovative and fastest growing club in the country.

 

These remarkable achievements have been attained despite over-whelming setbacks.

 

Matthew’s learning has been, and continues to be significant. He has discovered clear and simple processes that deliver sustainable shifts in effectiveness firstly at the individual level and then at the business team level.

 

LifeStuff was established in December 2007, giving Matthew more freedom to share these powerful learnings with others.
